Hi :)

Do you mean the buttons on the top-taskbar? Try right click and choose "Move", then moving the mouse around the screen should move the menu buttons? You might need to choose "Unlock" or something like that on that right-click menu first.

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Hi :)

Err, is this something to do with the re-design to make Ubuntu look more like Puppy linux or MacOS?

i only have 10.04 alpha 3 with todays updates ,, no extras . but i have seen that vomit page when setting up evolution email . when setting up for some reason it just switched to the vomit log in page. but that was after the buttons changed sides. so far , have no answer why they changed or how to change them back .

Try gconf-editor
/apps/metacity/general
button_layout

In case double or right click to edit:
close,minimize,maximize:menu # left hand side
menu:minimize,maximize,close # right hand side

Update:
The theme is still under development, hence buttons can be left or right.
e.g.
