Add the sardinian team

Asked by Massimeddu

Hi ubuntu translations coordinators,

I'm the admin of the sardinian translation team (https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-l10n-sc) (ISO code sc). Please, add our team into the ubuntu translation group. Our wiki page is here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Ubuntu-Sardu

Thanks,
Massimeddu.

Hi,

On my system the wiki page lacks content and so does the Launchpad team page.

We would be happy to appoint ubuntu-l10n-sc team, but before doing so can you please check that all requirement listed on the following wiki page are met by the Ubuntu Sardinian team?

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam

Kindest regards,
Adi

Hi Adi,

I updated the page of the team and the wiki, to add the missing information. I think that now it's all ok, if not please tell me what's wrong.

Thanks,
Massimeddu

Hi Massimedu,

Apart from a link to the LSC Sardinian writing standard, there isn't much on that page. I think it would be useful to existing members and potential contributors to expand that page in order to lower the barrier to contributing to Sardinian translations and to promote communication.

You can see as an example what other teams put as content on their pages at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/Contact/Teams (on the 'Wiki' column). If you are a small team it might be more difficult to start, but I think a few more lines explaining what the purpose of the team is, how to contribute, links to Sardinian translation resources and so on should not be difficult to add.

Do you think you could do that?

Also, do you think you could comment on the points in the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam page Adi was mentioning to you? E.g. are you the team coordinator?, are you subscribed to the ubuntu-translators mailing list? are there any other Sardinian open source translation efforts? If so, are you in touch with them?

If you could address these points, it will make it much easier to appoint the Ubuntu Sardinian translators for the translation of Sardinian in Ubuntu.

Thanks!

Hi David,

I updated the wiki with more information, the first version was a test :p

The questions:

are you the team coordinator? yes
are you subscribed to the ubuntu-translators mailing list? yes
are there any other Sardinian open source translation efforts? no, there was a firefox (3.5) translation team but now isn't still developed
If so, are you in touch with them? I was the old coordinator of the translation of firefox :)

Thank you.

Massimeddu,

Thanks a lot for looking into this. The Sardinian wiki page looks great after your changes!

As per the requirements being fulfilled and being effectively part of upstream, I'm happy to appoint your team for the Sardinian translation of Ubuntu. Welcome to Ubuntu Translations!

I'd like to ask you one last thing: could you please look into the points in the "After the team has been accepted" section in the https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Translations/KnowledgeBase/StartingTeam page?

Thanks!
