I purchased UberWriter via the Software center, but it will not download.

Asked by Myron Tippie

I purchased UberWriter via the Software center, but it will not download. The purchase hit my bank account but the software center just sits there and says
"Processing your request for UberWriter"... Information received

Hi Myron,

I don't know what's happening. Given the recent news surrounding Ubuntu and
the Software Center, I would suggest to just using the PPA.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Wolf

Hi Myron, I've got the same issue.
Once you have executed
`$ add-apt-repository ppa:w-vollprecht/ppa`

a new file called `w-vollprecht-ubuntu-ppa-{release-name}.list` is added in the folder `/etc/apt/sources.list.d`

If you take a look at https://launchpad.net/~w-vollprecht/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
you will see that last uberwriter release matches "ubuntu vivid" release.

It forces you to edit this file under /etc/apt/sources.list.d and fix the ubuntu version as well.
Please notice that that file may contain 2 "apt" lines:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/w-vollprecht/ppa/ubuntu YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/w-vollprecht/ppa/ubuntu YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION_HERE main

you just got to update "YOUR_UBUNTU_VERSION" with any of the releases having a published uberwriter release (from "precise" to "vivid", according to https://launchpad.net/~w-vollprecht/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

Cheers

And probably you may add the repository key with
sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys E746E8D7

If it fails reporting an unsigned repository Release, just use `dpkg` instead of `apt-get`.

Can you help with this problem?
