Troubleshooting iPod sync

I try to sync my (large) tasklist with my iPad, but the process allways aborts on the iPad after 5 to 15%. Sometimes I can see the tasks appearing on the iPad, but suddenly the the app closes on the iPad, and not all tasks are not saved. The Bonjour processon my Win 7 pc keeps on running (even several multiple instances for every attempt).
Error is "Sending task: 54050032:1230841100.81. This task can be found 9 times in the taskcoach file.

Syncing a (new) small database is no problem at all.

Is it the size of my Taskcoach file (750 tasks, 161 finished tasks not syncing), or is it a specific record which is causing the problem? How to troubleshoot this kind of errors, and how to solve it

Additional information: Every sync stalls at the same record, but the result is between no record synced and 10 to 66 records.

When you say "This task can be found 9 times in the taskcoach file.", you mean that 9 different tasks have this ID ? Did you read the task file with a text editor ?

In theory the ID should be unique so if several of your tasks have the same one something must have gone horribly wrong on the desktop side.

I carefully examined the tsk-file in a text editor, and I found another set of 9 duplicate tasks (a sub-task of the other duplicate task). All 9 tasks referred to the same task (same description, date, etc.) Both appeared to be old obsolete tasks, so I deleted them in the Taskcoach program, and everyting was solved.
Maybe is is a idea to have a possibility to "compact and repair" option in Taskcoach, to find and solve this kind op problems.

An integrity test would be nice, but this shouldn't have happened in the first time...
