Time and Skip

Asked by Joaquin Reyes

Dear friends! I'm trying to use Satellariyum. All time I use EzCosmos sice 1992, in EzCosmos I use TimeAndSkip tool for simulate solar system moving across the sky (Mars Regretion, Jupiter, etc..), but in Stellarium I can't find how to do this, simulate planets moving in the Sky in Marcator projections, can you telme if Stellarium do this and how to do, and if Stellarium can't NOT make TimeAndSkip like EzCosmos, please let me know :{

Thank You

Joaquin Reyes

I don't know EzCosmos and I hope that I understood you. You can set Mercator projection (F4 -> Markings); press Shift+T for enable planet trails and increase time speed via button L (or press F1 for looking shortcuts for time steps).

Hi Mr Alexander!
Thank you for your fast response, but that I need to set sky to statics (NOT STARS MOVING) and only the planets move across the screen, with this metod I can see exactly mars regression, conjuntions, eclipses and plenet path trought the sky, in this form the sky (stars) are staitic, only the solar system is moving across the sky, so I can't find how to to do this and I think that this is possible with Stellarium.
Thank You
Joaquín Reyes

Switch to azimuthal mount mode [ctrl+M]. This will keep the sky static.

You can use shift+T to display the planet trails.

Now by using the Date/Time window, only the solar system objects will move.

If you prefer you can hide the ground using [G] or the equivalent button on the lower horizontal bar
