Licence request

Hello,

I am writing on behalf of Bentley Productions who film the ITV drama Midsomer Murders.

We would like to use your software as background dressing in an upcoming episode. I can confirm there will be no derogatory referencing to your program.

If you are happy for us to proceed I will send over a standard release form.

Useing the software is fine; we'd just like attributation, as we do with book authors.

Could you clarify what you mean by 'Attributation'. Apologies I’m not used to this terminology.

Hello.

Stellarium is distributed under the GNU General Public License, version 2. Full text is available here:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html

As it is collaboratively developed by a loose group of people and re-uses other works created by other people, making the correct attribution is somewhat difficult. (See the AUTHORS file and the acknowledgements in the README file that comes with the installation.) I guess that mentioning "stellarium.org" and the Stellarium Team in the credits may be OK, though I'm not a legal person.
