In windows vista log.txt is located here: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Stellarium
where username is your windows userid.

Did you try to specify another folder for the screenshot files other than default windows desktop?
You can do that through the configuration windows [F2] tools tab.

I think the permissions for Windows Vista and Windows 7 are such that if you run as a non-admin user, most apps do not have permission to write to the Desktop folder (which is utterly absurd IMO). Choosing another folder (e.g. Pictures in your user folder) should solve this problem.

It doesn't look like this is going to change any time soon (Windows' policy on the Desktop folder), so maybe we should change the default in a future release of Stellarium.

Can you help with this problem?
