SpecialZoneArray( 8 )stars_8_2v0_0.cat error

Asked by Martin Glemm

My question is meant as hint to question #97782 and bug #554541 (see for identical log at question #97782).

1. The error occurs with Stellarium 10.4 on Windows 7 (64 bit).
2. It is NOT a memory problem of the underlying OS / filesystem (8 GB RAM, dozens of GB of free HD space).
3. Loading the file "filestars_8_2v0_0.cat" with Stellarium 10.2 / 10.3 worked fine (same environment as mentioned above).

"My question is meant as hint to (...) bug #554541..."

Then the appropriate place for your "question" is in the comments to that bug.

"2. It is NOT a memory problem of the underlying OS / filesystem (8 GB RAM, dozens of GB of free HD space)."

The fact that free memory/hard disk space exists doesn't necessarily mean that some software mechanism has access to them.

"3. Loading the file "filestars_8_2v0_0.cat" with Stellarium 10.2 / 10.3 worked fine (same environment as mentioned above)."

I will look at changes in the relevant code between the versions, but... the complaint in question #97782 is about version 0.10.2:
