Sikuli closing on first time use. --- JAVA 7 not supported !!!!

Can't even begin using the program as it closes on the first button pressed. Basically all the find/mouse action/keyboard actions that involve using a screenshot automatically close the program. As does take a screenshot/insert image/create region.
windows XP sp3, Java build 1.7.0_07-b10
On latest version of sikuli X. 1.0rc3(r905)
