I'm linking this to existing bug, though I'm not totally sure whether this is the same issue as described here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/sbackup/+bug/588578.

Please add some more information about your settings: do you use TLS, what port, server etc. Is this still valid?

Thanks for your help.

I am sending to SMTP gmail.com port 587 and I use TLS, and yes this is still a issue. Actually I get no feedback except that it timed out.

@klmorgan:

Thanks for your response. I've comitted a fix for https://bugs.launchpad.net/sbackup/+bug/588578 which prevented sending of emails via gmail. However, your issue is unrelated, I guess.

What settings do you use? Do you use 'smtp.gmail.com' as server?
