can't add account to sameplace

Asked by luckykobold

I've got sameplace installed in FireFox and it is showing all of my offline buddies, but I can't see my online buddies and I can't figure out if I am online with my AIM and MSN accounts. The only account that shows is my sameplace account. When I attempt to add accounts I receive confirmations that it was successful, but no new account appears and nothing changes even when I log off and back on as advised.

We're having issues with the AIM gateway, so operation of that one may be spotty. MSN transport on the other hand is up, you shouldn't have issues with that. Can you see your MSN contacts online?

MSN/AIM accounts (and generally, accounts you reach via gateways) aren't shown in the account list since they're really server-side, so don't worry about that, it's expected.

Y0u know, it turns out I was online with MSN, I
just didn't realize it. It was AIM that wasn't
working. So I won't see the names of the
individual AIM or MSN accounts in the SamePlace
sidebar? That was what was confusing me.

Thanks for you help.

Yes, that's confusing. I'll add a notice in the GUI that should (hopefully) clear things up.
