Deployment guest mdisks numbering

Asked by Herald ten Dam

If we want to deploy a guest we have an option to give a disk list. This works, but the disk are numbered from the root disk like 100, 101, 102,....
We have the next setup:
100 boot
200 root
300 swap
400 application binaries
500 application data

The above setup is not possible now because we can't give the edev number to the creation of a disk. So is it possible to add vdev to the make disk build list?

yes, this is by design, we need some time to evaluate this request, this will need provide additional param to create guest/disk function and we need check the side effect

as work around, can you link the disk as RW like 101->200 102-> 300 etc?

The work around we are thinking about, it is an extra step, or in the
profile exec by startup or as part of the scripting to make a guest. But it
is good to hear it is a design question, so missed not a parameter of some
kind of other function.
Easier for us would be the use of a prototype for defining a guest, this is
already registered.

Thanks for the advice
