Use of punctuation in Channel Names

Asked by Donnita

My current printed newsletter has a "column" titled What's Hot I kept thinking I was doing something wrong when trying to name an Edition and a Channel What's Hot because the display for a Headlines only Column looked something like this:

What's Hot

Sample News Story 1
Sample News Story 2

More What#39s Hot

Took me a bit, but apparently the apostrophe is the problem as when I changed it to What Is Hot the last line read correctly.

Is there a way so that I can use the apostrophe?
What can be changed so the apostrophe can be displayed in that field?

What's Hot is one of the main reasons this newsletter exists............not What Is Hot

Thank you,
Donnita

Hi,

Sorry, this is a bug in ProsePoint.

Apostrophe is one of a number of special characters in html (that need to be converted specially in order to be displayed), and when appearing at the bottom of a channel block, it is converted too many times.

This will be fixed in the next version of ProsePoint.

However, if you need the fix in a hurry, and are comfortable editing php files, I can provide instructions for how to apply the correction yourself.

(What version of ProsePoint are you using?)

I am sure that I am making lots of extra work for myself because I don't
understand how everything works together and what doesn't. I made a block
used What's Hot as it's title. the content of the block acts like a
separator *********** and when using zones in the Current Edition I load
the block with Headline Links below it....it works. You might go to site
site when you get the chance....I'm kinda lost but, like I said, trying to
work my way through it.

I have found that so far any media type module I try to use causes errors,
still trying to find one that works.

Take care, thanks for everything,
Donnita
