I can't get the "P" on the right side to connect to my elan cybra, it worked a few days after but I can't seem to locate the "P" icon. HELP!!!

Asked by Barbara Wirks

I have downloaded all the files, I have my Elan Cybra connected correctly. In fact, I was typing on it a few days ago. I clicked on the installation in order to begin typing on my steno mach and was able to type. Now, I can't seem to bring up the "P" to connect to my Elan Cybra, what am I doing wrong? Please help me so I can get started. I am not sure where to click to bring up the "P" in order to connect my computer to the steno machine.

Thank you.

Hi Barbara,

Thanks for your interest in Plover! The launchpad.net site is no
longer the main repository of Plover. Please go to:

https://github.com/openstenoproject/plover

to get the latest version of Plover.

Cheers,
Josh

Hi, I am so frustrated that I want to scream or quit!! :( Not really but do
you have any suggestions that might help me to get writing with Plover? I
don't know where to start. I've downloaded that newer file but and I want
to start practicing Plover but I just can't seem to get started. Maybe you
know someone who can? or offer me a suggestions? Anything, I really am
relatively tech savvy (believe it or not) but here I there is so much
information I don't know where to start and the program doesn't seem to
work as it states.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much,
barbara

I sure am. I just wish I knew how to get started writing. I would even pay
someone to help me over this initial hump. Any suggestions.
Thanks
Barbara

Hi Barbara,

Sorry for the frustration. The best place to get help is the Plover
mailing list:

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/ploversteno

I recommend joining the mailing list and asking for help there. It's
an active list with a wide range of experience represented.

Cheers,
Josh
