unity in Pipelight isn't working

Asked by Kerry

I have followed all of the Help Tutorial and it consistently gives me

"Failed to Update Unity Web Player
A newer version of Unity Web Player is required but the auto-update download failed
Was Trying to download http://webplayer.unity3d.com//Channels7684ad0c5a44/UnityPlayer3.x.x-win32.zip"

When I load a unity Program.

My System information is

Memory 7.7 GiB
Processor Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz x 8
Graphics Intel ivybridge Mobile
OS Type 64-bitt
Disk 729.9 GB

I have unlocked and enabled the x64-unity3d
I have followed the instructions on page http://pipelight.net/cms/faqs/faq-bad-performance-install-32-bit-graphic-driver-files.html

both 34-bit and 64-bit failed the check on 'libraries'
There is no directions for libraries that I can find.
I followed the directions for the Intel Drivers, and was told it there was no files to install

Hi,

sorry for the late answer. The 64 bit version of the unity3d webplayer is only available as beta and is known to have issues. See for example http://blogs.unity3d.com/2011/07/28/unity-3-4-web-player-for-64-bit-windows/. This is not a problem caused by pipelight and should be solved by using the 32 bit version of Unity3d instead.

Micheal; I have read the blog you linked and I understand what is being said on it, though the article if from at least July 2011 [earliest comment] and updated december of 2012

How do I disable both Versions so that I can only run one at a time, since I believe I may be running both and causing conflicts.

Hi,

I don't know how you enabled the plugins (using sudo or without) but the following commands should disable everything except the 32 bit version of unity (+ updating the plugin download list):

pipelight-plugin --disable-all
sudo pipelight-plugin --disable-all
sudo pipelight-plugin --update
sudo pipelight-plugin --enable unity3d

Pipelight is about using windows plugins in linux browsers. If you are using a windows version of firefox, you are not using Pipelight.

I've tried it in the Linux Build for Firefox on my Ubuntu and the app I am
trying to use isn't even Loading,
I disabled all, ran the update and reenabled the 32 bit to test; this
failure to try to load is the result[white screen]
I disabled all, ran the update and reenabled the 64 bit to test; this
failure to try to load is the result[white screen]

I performed the System Check again and put the output here
http://pastebin.com/90kFtm4r
can you tell me what I need to install in order to make it run correctly,
since it says my libraries failed

Do you have any browser extensions installed besides the user agent switcher? I would suggest to disable them for a test.

It might also help to start Firefox from a terminal using "PIPELIGHT_EMBED=0 firefox" and see if it works.

If nothing helps, maybe the debug log contains some additional hints (http://pipelight.net/cms/faqs/faq-how-to-capture-debug-output.html). If possible it would also help to tell us which unity3d application you are trying to use so that I can test if it works for me.

Extensions: I disabled all but the Agent Switcher and the two unity
Extensions [Desktop Integration and Website Integration]
Terminal: Done so
Browser Result: White Screen

I am trying to run Doctor Who: Legacy on Facebook
I originally asked about this Months ago on a previous version for a
different computer and the person I emailed directly said it worked fine,
I've never been able to get it to work.
