Is the Audible Web Player within the scope of Pipelight?

Asked by Stephen Kucksdorf

Semi-recently Audible has made a web player for Audible books. I tried using pipelight to play one of my books from the web interface and it says that it cannot (I am not in front of my browser right now so I cannot give an exact error). I then tried Netflix in that same browser (Google Chrome latest for Manjaro Linux) and I could stream Netflix. I then cleared browser history, closed the browser, set my user agent for audible to be Firefox 15, and tried Audible again, and I still couldn't get it to work (gave me the same error).

This isn't a pressing feature, I have Audible for Android that works fine, but more for informational. I believe Audible is using Silverlight 5.

Hi,

if I still remember correctly Audible required explicitly Silverlight5.0
and doesn't work with 5.1. To switch the version you can use:

sudo pipelight-plugin --disable silverlight5.1 --enable silverlight5.0

(Or without sudo if you haven't enabled Pipelight system-wide).
Does it work then?

Regards,
Sebastian
