Can the Roblox plugin be supported?
Hi, I am trying to get a game called Roblox (www.roblox.com) working on Linux. I have been trying to get the game to work nicely under Linux, but the game depends on a web browser & plugin to launch. In order to play a game, the plugin has to pass the game ID to the client.
Can you add support for Roblox? This would greatly help hundreds of people who play this game but cannot launch games on their system.
Thanks

Hi,
I just tested the Roblox plugin with Pipelight and was able to get it working. It will therefore be part of the next Pipelight release.

Please run:
sudo pipelight-plugin --update
and then try again.
They had pushed out a new version, thats why Pipelight didn't recognize it anymore.

Working for the most part, but now Roblox is saying "Unable to join game. Please try again later".

Just tested one more time, but still works nice here.
On which distro are you? Do you use our provided wine version including all the patches?
Did you test with multiple games? If only specific ones are affected please provide an example link to one of them.

I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 with a default pipelight-multi installation. All games fail to open. I'll provide a screenshot.

This issue also affects Ubuntu 12.04 x64. I have not tested i386.

This also affects Ubuntu 12.04 i386 on a fresh install with only pipelight-multi installed, Roblox unlocked and enabled, and a user agent switcher installed on Firefox.

Hm, its really a bit weird, I have two setups over here (both with Nvidia graphic cards) which work well.
I have always tested as a guest so far, not with a real account, does this make a difference for you?
Moreover, could you please attach a new lof of the terminal output (which probably includes some other error now)?

It's not Direct3D related, this also occurs when using OpenGL for rendering.

Hi,
its really a bit weird that you still have problems. Besides some weird
looking FIXMEs which could have to do with the graphic card (but not sure
if its critical), there is no obvious reason in the debug output.
Please check these additional things, just to ensure that you're testing
with the same settings:
* Does it work when you're not logged in? All our testing was done without
a user account, and joining as a guest. Maybe this makes a difference?
* Do you have any browser plugins or extensions enabled, which intercept
the plugin <-> browser communication (like HTTPSEverywhere, some
Adblockers, or NoScript)? Please disable them for testing. Especially
NoScript is evil, because even when the page is whitelisted, it still
blocks JavaScript calls by the plugin without any warning.
* You mentioned above that you installed Pipelight the "regular" way, which
also is a bit confusing. Our stable branch is still at version 0.2.4.2
(where Roblox wasn't added yet, and thus cannot be unlocked), and our daily
branch doesn't contain any builds for 14.04. Are you using some third-party
PPA? Or did you compile it yourself by running "debuild" or "./configure &&
make ..." manually? When you compiled it manually it might be possible,
that you've passed the wrong arguments to ./configure and as a result
you're using the wrong wine version, which could probably explain the
issues.
If the ideas above still don't help to resolve the problem, I would suggest
you to join #pipelight on IRC freenode, so we can help you with the testing
later (when I'm home). If you don't have any IRC chat installed you can
also use this one: http://
please use a different browser than the one you're using for testing the
plugin. ;-)

1. The problem occurs both logged in and logged out.
2. I had Adblock Plus, but the issue is still reproducible after removal.
3. I was using the Saucy PPA on Trusty through editing /etc/apt/
The FIXME errors related to graphics are not critical as Roblox Studio can still be launched.

Furthermore, this issue seemingly affects both Firefox and Chrome, but I get crashes related to pluginloader.exe while in Firefox.

That gist is the log which is from Firefox. It seems to have much more relevant information.

With the current Pipelight release 0.2.5 the Roblox plugin is now officially included.
Moreover a dependency to wine-wininet-

I'm trying to install Roblox plugin in Firefox on FreeBSD (PCBSD), with no luck.
I managed to install Adobe Reader plugin, for instance, with Pipelight. It appears in Firefox installed plugins list, OK.
I followed the directions here: http://
wine-pipelight prefix built on i386-wine-staging is OK.
After unlocking and enabling Roblox plugin with Pipelight, it does not install on Firefox.
Running "ndiswrapper --list" tries to install the missing Roblox plugin, by running /tmp/pipelight-

I suppose there is a bug in the plugin installer. What can be done to fix it? Can anybody help, please?
Thank you very much

The same happens following the directions for Ubuntu on Linux Mint. The result is the same and the logs are similar.
I suppose the installer must be fixed. Isn't there a way to play Roblox outside Windows? (And there it crashes all the time here...)
Thanks.

I checked out the Pipelight source code, and so I found out that the Roblox plugin installer is provided by Roblox itself (http://
I think the Roblox plugin should be marked as unsupported, sparing everyone the time on trying to make it work - as log as there is no active work on updating support to this plugin.
Can you help with this problem?
Provide an answer of your own, or ask Jonathan Alfonso for more information if necessary.
