How can I disable Thumbnails?

Asked by Zubalea

Simple question, trying to disable thumbnails like I did with Nautilus in the past.

Any ideas?

At the moment, there is no user setting to disable thumbnailing. Under what circumstances would you disable them? The preference is for Files to automatically disable thumbnailing when it is not appropriate. There is an existing bug #1404500 which suggests some circumstances where thumbnailing should be automatically disabled. For network locations, thumbnailing is already disabled by default to reduce network traffic.

If manual control over thumbnailing is a feature you would like to see in Files then please file a "wishlist" bug report.

I also would like to disable thumbnails on Files. Whith thumbnails, at least on small screens different kind of file types (spreedsheet, text documets, pdf's) look the same. I prefer the application icons to search on the filesystem list, it is easier for me to distinguish diferent kind of files and find what i am looking for.

Can you help with this problem?
