Bug Description
The detail view shows thumbnails for videos (and images) and in most cases they are not useful because they are too tiny and the video (or image) is usually quite big.
In that case, the thumbnails should be hidden.
Note that if the image is tiny (like an icon when Files displays .desktop files) then the thumbnails are very useful and should be kept.

So, whether a thumbnail is generated needs to depend on /bugs.launchpad .net/pantheon- files/+ bug/1067061
1) The zoom-level
2) The type of file
and possibly the location of the file (e.g. on a slow network) - see https:/
Should Icon view behave the same or always show thumbnails?
