export a x264/aac movie to somethins else or editing it

Asked by Thomazeau

One of my usual work on video files is edit my recordings from adsl tv (from french provider Free on freebox).
I know how to handle this with files encoded with mp2a/v but recently some of the channels are encoded in x264/aac .
How would you do this (editing=cutting the advertisement and have the audio-video synchto ok).
the cutting tool is not very easy to use and i don t see any cancelling tool (pretty weird for such a soft)
i have tried to export the files to the mp2a/v format but it does not work .
thank you and forgive my english.

To extend the timeline past 10 minutes, just save your project, and you can select a larger timeline. As far as the "canceling" tool, can you post some links to some examples. I'm not sure I understand what a canceling feature would do. Thanks!

We are actually on version 0.9.53 right now. I would recommend that you
upgrade OpenShot via the .DEB installer. You should only need to update the
OpenShot.deb file, and not the dependencies. We have a much simplified
export wizard that I'm sure you will like.

Thanks,
-Jonathan
