I'm not asking about zip files but about the zip download program that is used by openshot to download their program. BIG MISTAKE! Openshot is shooting their fans in the foot by using a program that secretly downloads unwanted programs onto the computers of those who want to use openshot without having their computer invaded. So, I've looked and don't see another way of downloading openshot. Anyone found another way?

I don't understand why you are speaking of zip download program. Whatever on our website or on our development plateform, you can download openshot either a binary done for your distribution either all the code which is in a tar.gz package. A tar.gz is better than zip package. However, zip is a open source project that you can use closed eyes like any open source program at the condition that you take the source code on the website of the project or on his development plateform.
Either I've not understood what you said. Antoher point, you are on Linux and virus, etc...are for window and your system (Linux) is not Window too. It is a modern and perfom system.
The usual way on Linux to install a program is to use repository, either official either this one of the project (if existing and for your distribution). And this repositories are using some keys (private and public) which done those so much secure that your bank.
Read this faq for that :https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1850
Good luck and welcome in the Linux World.

I don't know how simply to say it: Zip Opener is the program used on the openshot website for downloading openshot. They are lowlife scum that download unwanted programs onto unsuspecting computers.
I said nothing about linux or any other religious matters.

Hi Tom,
I'm sorry, but your comment makes no sense. Your computer downloads our .ZIP file, and is the one launching Zip Opener. It is not possible for our website to launch a specific zip program on your computer. So you are accusing us of launching a program that is already installed on your computer. =) Please uninstall that software.

No, they were not there before, nor was my search engine corrupted before
using zipdownload trying to download your program. And yes, I spent a long
time regaining control of my computer.
Listen, I'm just telling you as a courtesy, thought you'd like to know.

Why would I say things that weren't true?
No, they were not there before, nor was my search engine corrupted before using zipdownload trying to download your program. And yes, I spent a long time regaining control of my computer.
Listen, I'm just telling you as a courtesy, thought you'd like to know.
I suggest you go to the openshot website and try downloading it with the zip download program offered on the website.
I'm just trying to do you a favor.
Never mind.
