Unable to install the help manual

Asked by pat

Hello there. I love using open shot because the help manual is so easy to follow. At least it used to be. I can't get it to load now.
I upgraded to Mint 13 Maya [Mate 32 bit], and upgraded the OpenShot 1.4.0 version to OpenShot 1.4.2.
When I try opening the help, I am directed to " linuxmint.com " instead of " http://www.openshotusers.com/help/1.3/en/ " page.
Is that an independant page?
I updated and installed the ppa and docs package, using gdebi [no success] and then Synaptic. The package installers updated, but they don't appear to have installed the help manual or its link 'into' OpenShot.
I've bookmarked the " http://www.openshotusers.com/help/1.3/en/ " page for now. Is there a http doc that's downloadable? So many questions, so little time. ;>) Thank you for a wonderful program that opens up so many possibilities.

Thanks. That' s done always pleasure to hear a compliment.

I don't understand why you have that ? He is In the menu help (or type on F1) and it will be display in Yelp like other programs.

>>Is there a http doc that's downloadable?

No and I don't think that will be done.

Thanks

Thank you for looking into this. I don't understand it either. F1 gives me
' http://www.linuxmint.com/documentation.php ' on a new tab each time I hit
it in OpenShot. I did an update to 1.4.2, but I didn't uninstall 1.4.0
first. Should I do a complete uninstall and reinstall? In my help menu,
there isn't any Help, just Contents, Report A Bug, Ask a Question,
Translate This Application and About. The Contents link brings me to '
http://www.linuxmint.com/documentation.php ' also.
Still though, even with this minor issue, OpenShot is far and away better
than other video editors I have purchased or used. Thanks for a superior
product. And, I can at least take the long way around to get to the Help
documents. That's cool.

Take a look at Contents. It should be the trick. :-)

I don't understand why your browser is opened when you call the documentation. We are following the Gnome/Freedestkop norms and it is opened with Yelp. You have the same thing installed on your computer that you got on the web.

Have you this one installed ? Take a look with Synaptic searching it. Have you the package openshot-doc installed ?

Could you open another manual of another program ? What 's happen ?

To my mind, it is just a problem of preferences but now the most complicated is to find where. At a location on your computer, you have what we call type.mine i.e for sample a audio file will be opened with Totem, a pdf will be opened him with evince,...
You should find this location, I am nearly sure that your issue will be resolved quickly if all the previous suggestions are working.
Good luck.

If you need to manually alternate the time, then you need to disable "routinely set time" in machine settings.

There are higher workarounds for this problem:

In Ubuntu's system settings switch automatic time synchronization off and transfer it on again.
See more detail here https://manuals.ninja/manual/715751/baby-swings-mattel-fisher-price-power-plus-spacesaver-cradle-n-swing

Can you help with this problem?
