Only world map doesnt work

Asked by Darshan Soni

I have blender 2.56 and melt on ubuntu 10.04. Animated titles now work but when I click on the world map one, I get the same "no frame was output..." message. My blender path is correct and all other animated titles work, what would be the problem?

Hi,
Just a thought. What is your version of Openshot ? and here your version of MLT ?
You should check all the dependencies and update your version of MLT (see at the end of the list the sunab repository)
http://openshotusers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=758
Thanks.

My openshot version is 1.3, i installed it a few days ago. I updated mlt and also installed all the dependencies on that list. Still not working. If it helps, I cant use world map, magic wand and lens flare, it gives an error message saying there's no frame output from blender...

Have you modified the path for your Blender version (now it is the 2.56) See here (http://www.blender.org/download/get-256-beta/) for having the last version. There is another way with a special PPA but I don't use it.
Untar the archive in your home and rename the folder more simply by blender-2.56.
After open Openshot and go to the Preferences (or Crtl + P). Go to the first tab General. and In the last item called Path of the exec Blender. Here you must specified the path of this blender version for Openshot. I don't know how is your username but you will adapt you at your situation and so type this in the last item :
/home/username/blender-2.56/blender
And normally, all will work after.

I have only installed the new blender (2.56) from a PPA. I had no previous version. The command "blender" opens up blender 2.56 by default. In my preferences, the comand is also just "blender" since it points to the right version. I am very frustrated by this :(

You have install the blender-svn and the link to create is different. The solution is on the forum but I have not found it. And like I have not this version installed........
Check where is your exec of this version and create the appropriated link specifying the path.
Try the following command which blender-svn locate blender-svn. I am nearly sure that the appellation of this version is different of the blender "official" version. And you should create a symbolic link with.
Like you can see, it is more difficult to parameter than the first solution. And you have always a functional version which can not break by a PPA 's update.
Your problem is just to put the good path for saying at Openshot where is the executable.

A link yes but I must check exactly where I have found this information (and the good name/path). Let's me check before but I don't know if I will enough time to find it today. I don't think today.

Problem is fixed. Simply update blender through the PPA to a version above 2.56 and openshot works perfectly with it. Thanks cenwen!
