Removing compute node from database

Asked by David Kranz

I have observed that the database node is informed of the services running on a new compute node when that node starts up, and that nova-manage reports a service on a compute node as disabled when it is no longer running. But, except for tests, I didn't see any code that would remove a service from the database.

If a compute node is removed from a cluster, how is the db entry ever deleted? Is the administrator supposed to tweak the database directly to remove it? And are there any issues like this for volumes or anything else if they are removed from a cluster?

Yes currently you would have to delete the row manually. I don't know of any issues with removing old entries.

Any update about this problem or we still need to delete the row manually from nova database?
