manually config br100 in FlatDHCPManager and VlanManager

Asked by Diego Lalo

Hi guys, as usual I have a question :), is there a way to manually configure br100 using FlatDHCPManager and VlanManager? I need to do this because I need to set promisc on br100 but br100 doesn't appear until I launch an instance. I also would like to know how to manually configure the bridge for additional compute nodes, should I configure the bridge as static IP or DHCP?

Cheers
Diego

You can manually add br100 in advance and put it in promisc on the network
host. You shouldn't need promisc in vlan mode.

Ok Vish but do I need to set something special on the bridge or can be set in this way for example:

# The primary network interface
            auto br100
            iface br100 inet static
            bridge_ports eth0
            bridge_stp off
            bridge_maxwait 0
            bridge_fd 0
            address 10.0.0.1
            netmask 255.255.252.0
            network 10.0.0.0
            broadcast 10.0.3.255
            gateway 192.168.1.1

With special I mean if I have to put the bridge in the same network as the network of the projects or anything else I should set for it.

Cheers
Diego

You can just set up the bridge with no ip and let nova do the rest for you.

Vish it's me again, I tried putting this in /etc/network/interfaces but if I restart networking the br100 gets an incorrect IP, instead of 10.0.0.1 it gets 192.168.1.234, how can I do to make br100 get the right IP?

# Networking for OpenStack Compute
auto br100

iface br100 inet dhcp
    bridge_ports eth0
    bridge_stp off
    bridge_maxwait 0
    bridge_fd 0

I changed dchp to static but I didn't set an IP, I restarted nova-network and networking service but the bridge didn't appear.

The concept changed to set the code for countless loops watching for the scenario to be resolved.
Now, this was very touchy on how and why the process crashed and became never without a doubtfully operating. Visit here for more detail https://manuals.ninja/manual/717802/bridge-cameras-panasonic-dmcgx80

In this mode, OpenStack begins a DHCP server (dnsmasq) to designate IP locations to VM occurrences from the predetermined subnet, as well as physically arranging the systems administration span. Check out https://lumbuy.com/ where you can buy VlanManager products IP addresses for VM occurrences are relegated from a subnet indicated by the organization director.
