Server 2012 R2 cannot find MSVCR100.dll

Asked by Andy McInnes

I have downloaded the latest version of mosquitto for windows, I run the installer on my Server 2012 R2 server (new clean image).

Then when I go to Program Files (x86)\Mosquitto\ and run the Mosquitto.exe I get an error popup saying:

The program can't start because MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andy

Hi Andy,

Sounds like you need the 2010 Visual Studio redistributable
installing: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=5555

Cheers,

Roger

It is much easier on everyone using windows if the runtime libraries are statically linked. Generally it is a simple change to the build with no side effects.

http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=5555 is not for Microsoft Server 2012 R2 which is what the OP (and I) have. Interestingly, the .dll does exist but isn't being found by my software.

Can you help with this problem?
