Tracks won't load

Asked by dcgonzal

Mixxx works, it is great, but some tracks won't load. I am running 1.6.1+Herc on Ubuntu Jaunty (need more information?). I right click some mp3s and click on load in player 1 or 2 and nothing happens. It works fine for other tracks but not some.

Hey dcgonzal -- are they all mp3s?

Is it possible for you to try out our 1.7.0 beta and see if the problems still exist? I think we made some fixes to our audio loading code. You can download beta packages for Ubuntu from our website: http://mixxx.org/download.php

If you run mixxx from the terminal, you should see debug output. Does any debug output get printed when you try to load files that won't load?

Finally, do the tracks that won't load have weird/unicode characters in the filenames? We've had trouble with strange characters in filenames in the past.

Yeah they are all mp3s but i think i figured out the real problem. I changed the contents of my music library and reloaded it (and have even quit and restarted mixxx and reloaded the library) but for some reason the song/library database file wasn't getting updated, so i deleted it. Now it works.

Ahh yea -- sorry about that. That bug should be fixed in 1.7.0

Cheers,
