Lesser events generated for W+photon processes

Asked by Saumyen Kundu

Hi MG5 experts,

I was trying to generate processes W+photon, WW+photon, ZW+photon and others as monophoton backgrounds. But I found that the processes with W and photon (up to two additional partons) could not generate all the processes asked for. The processes like Z+photon, ZZ+photon etc was generated fine. Do you think the generation level cuts are the reason? I used mostly the default cuts. The batch files for the 3 processes and also a MG5 script for W+photon can be found in the following link:

Will appreciate any help.

Thank and regards,
Saumyen

Hi,

Did you try the standard trick in such cases?
change sde_strategy (in this case to 1) and set hard_survey to hiigher number...

Cheers,

Olivier

Thank you so much, Olivier. It worked very well.
I felt the 'sde_strategy=2' option was making things complicated in my case.

Thanks and regards,
