fail to reach target in EFT pp>ta+ta-veve~

Asked by Artur

Dear experts,

I generate process 'p p > ta+ ta- ve ve~ GP=0 GM=1 BTW=0 BW=0 BB=0 WW=0' that corresponds to the full amplitude in case of non-zero O_G- EFT operator. The number of produced events is 3335 instead of requested 10000. The following parameter values in run_card are different compared with the default ones:

ptl 5
mmll 4
dynamical_scale_choice 3
sde_strategy 2
hard_survey 3
pdlabel lhapdf
lhaid 260000
etal 3
maxjetflavor 5

Do I need to apply any additional selection? Do the cuts on leptons (ptl, mmll) affect taus in this case?

With the best regards,
Artur

Yes it should.

One think that you can try is to test this version of MG5aMC:
https://github.com/mg5amcnlo/mg5amcnlo/tree/3.5.0_twgt
mg5amcnlo/mg5amcnlo at 3.5.0_twgt
github.com

It was increasing number of events generated in case where unweighting efficiency was very low (which is likely your case)

Cheers,

Olivier
