DelphesHepMC: No such file or directory

Asked by Nitish Polishetty

I'm new to Madgraph, so forgive me if I seem a bit clueless. I've been trying to learn how to work with Madgraph, Pythia, and Delphes and have been able to successfully install all of them. However, when attempting to launch a collision with the full pipeline, instead of making the root file, I instead am getting the following error in the delphes log:

../bin/internal/run_delphes3: line 40: /Users/npolishetty/PycharmProjects/Physics2/mg5/MG5_aMC_v2_9_15_New/delphes-master/DelphesHepMC: No such file or directory

When looking thru that directory, DelphesHepMC doesn't exist but DelphesHepMC2 & DelphesHepMC3 do. Is there any fix to this problem?

I'm on an M1 arm machine running macOS 13.4, root 6.26, Madgraph 2_9_15, and delphes 3.5.

Thanks

I will discuss this with Pavel and check the version that we advise to use to fix the problem.
An easy fix is likely to add a symlink and define DelphesHepMC as DelphesHepMC2

Cheers,

Olivier

Thanks! To ensure, the 2 can be used interchangeably, right?

I'm not a Delphes author but I would bet no.
My guess is that one should be used for hepmc2 and one for hepmc3 input file.

Cheers,

Olivier

Hello, I haven't sat down to add the symlink yet but I was wondering if Pavel has responded? For further context on the Delphes version I used the one linked from this post: https://cp3.irmp.ucl.ac.be/projects/delphes/ticket/1579

Thanks,
Nitish
