MadGraph5_aMC@NLO

not enough events generated

Hi,

I realise that there are a lot of questions on this topic but unfortunately I still had to make another one here to see if I had a different solution for my specific case as the answers tended to vary slightly and older versions of madgraph seem to work fine for my problem.

I generated e+ e- > b b b~ b~ Z QED=6, Z > mu+ mu- at 300GeV COM energy for the electron positron beams. I requested 150000 events and it was fine with 2.8.2 which i have installed. but with newer versions like 2.9.2 and 3.3.1, the number of events generated is around 2000 instead of the requested 150000

Would I be able to get some help with why this could be happening and any solutions. Would using the vents from the older version be ok in this case?

Hi,

All the modification to the phase-space integrator done in 2.9.0 are explained in this paper:
https://arxiv.org/abs/2102.00773
and they all have switch to de-activate them.
Not sure which one is problematic for your process, but you will certaintly find the solution in that paper.
