Madgraph compilation error on Mac M1 silicon chip

Hi,

Looks like an error which occurs when you compile some libraries with one compiler and some other libraries with another compiler. So the typical solution in that case is to remove everything and re-install everything with the same compiler.

Note that I'm not aware of a gfortran version compiled with M1 that support quadruple precision.
(If you have found one please tell how you have installed it -- or if you have compile it from source --)
So using a gfortran compiled with M1 will not work at NLO accuracy.

Hi,

You are using gcc + clang?
I was not aware that gcc can compile fortran file.
I guess that this is actually the issue reported by the code... that gcc can not be used to compiled fortran file.

One configuration (also on M1) that works is gfortran + clang.

Hi, the problem regarding compilers solved after reinstalling everything and specifying compilers gfortran and clang in the mg5 configuration file. Thank you!

However, when using NNPDF30 is giving me errors. given as

First time I see this error which is generated by the lhapdf library, looks like a problem of the metadata of that specific pdf set (so does it works for other pdf set?) In this case, I'm not sure if you should contact PDF set author and/or lhapdf maintainer.

yes i tried different Pdf sets and it is giving same error. Only the one already available in the Madgraph i.e. nn23lo1 = pdlabel with
   230000 = lhaid is working fine.
What do you suggest in that case?
