event generation with pythia8

hello,
I am working with madgraph_V_2_6_7. I have installed pythia8 within the madgraph by "install pythia8". but after event generation it shows a error like "MadGraph5Error: Histogram with run_id '0' was not found in the specified XML source. "
when I look in the tag_1_pythia8.log it shows the abort massage as " PYTHIA Abort from Pythia::Pythia: unmatched version numbers : in code 8.306 but in XML 8.240".
I can understand there is a mismatch between pythia 8 version (between what i already have pythia 8240 and what i installed in mg5). But i can't find a way to fix this. How can i give pythia8240 path (what I have installed already in my system) to madgraph.?
