pp > Z l+ l- +0-3jets LO generation

Asked by Andre Sznajder

We are trying to generate the process bellow:

generate p p > z l+ l- @1
add process p p > z l+ l- j @2
add process p p > z l+ l- j j @3
add process p p > z l+ l- j j j @4

and then decay the Z using Madspin to keep spin correlations.
The process keeps crashing during Madspin decay , probably due to the large multiplicity in the final state.
Is it possible and would it help to split the generation of the 3jet multiplicity from the lower multiplicities ?
If yes, what would be the generation run_card options in order to be able to merge the samples afterwards ?

Hi,

I do not have that much information here.

I do not see how this could help (but I do not have any clue why it would crash so...)

Cheers,

Olivier

Hi Olivier,
Sorry for the lack ion information in the first message.
Indeed the problem was solved by splitting the generation of the "process p p > z l+ l- j j j @4" from the other ones.
It seems it was a limitation of condorHT at CERN due to the number of jobs and generation was being aborted.
Thanks anyway
Andre
