MadGraph jobs in sge batch system

Asked by Gourab Saha

Hi,

I was trying to produce some NLO process in Madgraph. I have 'sge' batch system ready in our cluster. To submit jobs in cluster, I saw a simple trick in input/mg5_configuration.txt. I changed 3 commands there: cluster name, cluster_queue and cluster_size.
After that when I was making my Cards ready, in the run_card I mentioned nEvents = 200000 and nevt_job = 10000 [max nEvents per job].
Then I just did ./bin/aMCatNLO and 'launch'.
I was expecting there would be 40 jobs in total (submitted another process with the same configuration) but I found there is more than 800 jobs running and all of them are MadGraph jobs.
It seems really confusing to me. Kindly let me know if I am missing anything important.
Thanks

With the information that you provide, I do not see anything potentially wrong.
