Hi,

I am generating wwpair + 2 jets production and the w bosons decaying to l vl events and then doing MLM jet matching. I am carrying out this process in pbs cluster. The whole process works fine upto 49k events. The moment I give 50k events, I am facing an error while combining events:

This process running without cluster mode works fine for even upto 1 lakh. So, I could not understand where the fault lies. Could you please help me in this regard?

This means that someone send the signal: SIGINT to the job.
(on a laptop this is the signal that you send when you hit Ctrl-C)

This likely means that this is youur PBS system that decide to kill your job for some reason
(the job run for too long, you are using too many memory, ....)

Hope that this will help you to understand why your jobs are killed and that you will be able to tune the PBS submission to avoid such limitations

The results.dat file contains the same line : "end-code not correct 2"

This is happening for whichever process I am giving. Here I was generating ttbar (decaying to W and b and W decaying to l and vl) with 3 jets. The commands I gave are:

That is a sign that you do not have a large enough /tmp directory on some of the node.
and that such directory reach 100% disk space for whatever reason.
It can be madgraph using 100% of the space or due to another user on the same node using a lot of /tmp as well...

One solution is to set the /tmp directory to a local scratch area for this you should check the manual of your cluster.

Hi,

That variable is for something else.
The correct way to do it is via environment variable:
export TMPDIR=/scratch/work/temp
see: http://fortranwiki.org/fortran/show/Scratch+Files

Now I do not know PBS enough in order to tell you how such environment variable is propagated to the jobs submitted (or not). In the second case, you would need to change the PBS submission script to enforce it at each submission.
