Mixture of transverse & longitudinal w bosons generation

Asked by Songshaptak De

Hi,

I want to generate a process in Madgraph which will give a mix of transverse and longitudinally polarised w+ boson. I was generating p p > w+ w- j j QED=4 in madgraph and when I was making the spin distribution of the w+ bosons, I saw 98% of the total events contain has w+ boson with spin 1, which suggests that almost all the w+ bosons are transversely polarized.
Can you guys suggest any other process to simulate in madgraph which will give me a good mixture of w+ bosons having spin 1 and spin 0?

I do not know,

maybe p p > w+ w- j j QCD=0
or
 p p > w+ w-

Cheers,

Olivier

Will the process p p > w+ w- j j QED=4 in Madgraph generate WW scattering as one of the Feynman Diagrams ?

You should look at the Feynman diagram in order to know that.
The answer technically depend of the model so I can not answer that question (but in general yes it does)
