how to add cut for one of the particles with same pid

Asked by Li

Hi,

     For example, I want to add a pt cut on one of the tops, in process pp->tt~. The pt_min_pdg seems add pt cut to both of the tops.

     Can I make a pt_min_pdg cut if I write process like pp->tt~, ( t> w+ b, w+ > l+ vl ) and decay the "t~" using madspin?
     In this case, pt_min_pdg applies to "t~" or both tops or no top?

Best,
Li

Hi,

Of course for p p- > t t~ the pt of both top are always identical so your example does not make that much sense.

Not 100% sure that madspin can handle such case, but you should try.
If it does not work you should try:
> p p > t t~ j , t > b l+ vl

> In this case, pt_min_pdg applies to "t~" or both tops or no top?

only on the anti-top indeed.

Cheers,

Olivier
