"rm: cannot remove 'ftn26': No such file or directory" and results in a huge cross-section. Please help.

Asked by Lopamudra Mukherjee

MG5_aMC shows the following message in the terminal while generating a new physics process : "rm: cannot remove 'ftn26': No such file or directory" . The cross -section that it computes is also very large (and unexpected)compared to other processes for the same model.

Hi,

This typically means that your integral is divergent in a part of the phase-space and that you did not setup the appropriate cut to avoid this unphysical region of the phase-space.

Cheers,

Olivier
