decay chain syntax/ t-channel interference

Asked by Giancarlo Panizzo

Dear Madgraphists,

can you confirm that when asking something like (H heavy scalar)

generate p p> t t~ H, H > t t~

only ---diagrams--- with an s-channel "resonant" H are selected? Does this mean that this syntax neglects "interference" between resonant s channel and (of course) non resonant t-channel?

Many thanks

Giancarlo

Hi,

I confirm, you can actually check the diagram generated. Postscript file are created for all the Feynman diagram that are computed.
(You have link to all of them in info.html)

I will add that this syntax only computes the “onshell” contribution of the integral and do not compute the “off shell contribution”.
“Onshell" means that the invariant mass of the particle is between M- bwcut * width and M + bwcut * width.
The value for bwcut is set to 15 (in the run_card) note that you should not change that parameter to huge number since that parameter has some impact on the pardon-shower.

Cheers,

Olivier

Many thanks,

I already read the manual and studied the relevant diagrams printed, but it seems in 2017 that to ask to launchpad is scientifically more valuable ;)

Many thanks also for the great job you are doing,

cheers
