aMC@NLO equivalent of POWHEG's "bornsuppfact" flag

Asked by Robert Hambrock

I'm computing heavy flavor production spectra at 5.02TeV with aMC@NLO matched to Herwig++.

To improve statistics in the high pT domain (up to 100GeV), I would like to produce weighted events that overpopulate the tail of the production spectrum. In POWHEG, I can perform this via the "bornsuppfact" flag. Does aMC@NLO have an equivalent for this? I'd assume this would be part of MadWeight, but I could not find this feature documented.

Uniformly sampling x in the PDFs would help, but this answer suggests that this is not implemented natively:

Hi,

We have such option at Leading Order (implemented very recently) but not at NLO.

Cheers,

Olivier

Hi Oliver,

thank you for the extremely swift response!
Is such an option in the pipeline for NLO in the near future?
For the time being, I will switch to POWHEG then.

All the best,
Robert

They were some discussion on that direction, but I do not think that anyone is actively working on it.

Cheers,

Olivier
