Matrix element zero in reweighting

Asked by Nikolaj Overgaard Sørensen

Hello!

I am trying to reweight a sample to different values of the parameters in the EWDIM6 model.

My sample is generated with
import model EWdim6-vbs
define l = l+ l-
define v = vl vl~
define w = w+ w-
generate p p > l v j j j j
output VBS-resticted

The restriction I use is just a modification of the default restriction to allow the parameters Cphidl2 and Cphiwl2. I don't really modify the default cuts and use SM values for all parameters. When I try to reweight this to a different value of Cwl2 it fails. There is no problems for several thousand events before for some event (which events seems to differ depending on cuts or random seed of the event generation) I get:

Exception: Invalid matrix element for original computation (weight=0).

I cannot figure what my cause this or what can be done to fix it. I might quite possible have misunderstood something, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards

Can you send me the lhef file? That you try to reweight (Directly to my email account or give me a link)

This will help me to understand what the problem is.

Thanks,

Olivier

Hi Olivier

I have put the lhef file at http://nikolajos.dk/unweighted_events.lhe.gz

Thanks for the help

I also put the restriction file at http://nikolajos.dk/restrict_vbs.dat if you need it to reproduce the error.

Hi Nikolaj,

Can you run with the following line in your card: “change helicity False”.
This should solves the problem,

Cheers,

Olivier
