Hi,
The problem is that the file that you download to learn the path to the latest version of the package is not correctly formatted.
I have checked online and all our server have the correct file.
So multiple solutions:
1) you have an internet connection error
2) your program do not follow the redirect associated to the uiuc server which change web adress recently
3) a temporary problem.
In all cases, the solution is to retry (possibly multiple times). If you are in the second case, as soon as the code try to use the UIUC mirror it will crash. But since it randomly choose the mirror, it should work 50% of the times.
Cheers,
Olivier

Dear Sir,
Thanks for the response. I have downloaded all the related packages from its own website. Have I made any mistake? Is it possible to check the md5sum of the package, if there is anomaly?
1) I think we have Internet connection

--- launchpad.net ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 4 received, 0% packet loss, time 3003ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 172.512/
2) Sorry but I could you not understand this point. Do I need make any explicit changes in the /etc/resolv.conf file for DNS ot the apt-get central repository to capture the new location for your UUIC server?
3) I am trying multiple times but getting same error. This same error I have got in CentOS-6.5 and now here in Ubuntu-14.04

Hi,

If you type install, the code will get all the package from the web.
If you downloaded such package then you can install them by hand.

This is an internet protocol that might (or not) be supported by your version of python.
(the fact that the web address that you try to access return an permanent redirection error)
Most of the system, simply redirect trough the new web-dress but some do not.
This is quite deep in your system, since in this case, this depend of the library linked at the time of installation of python.
So in principle you need to update the library and then re-install python. I would not advise you to do such thing.
One easier solution is to use 2.5.0.beta where the address to the UIUC server is the up-to-date one.

If the point 2 is the correct one, then you should have been unlucky since it should work 50% of the time.
Cheers,
Olivier

Dear Sir,
I used the beta version, but looks like it is giving the same old error. I am now confused and seems to make a silly mistake which I am unable to find out yet. Providing below the output of MG5_debug file and error report.

Ok thanks,
Indeed the path in the code was still the old one. I thought that I changed that one but looks like not.
you can apply the following change to fix the problem:
=== modified file 'madgraph/
--- madgraph/
+++ madgraph/
@@ -5692,7 +5692,7 @@
path = {}
- 'http://
+ 'http://
r = random.randint(0,1)
r = [r, (1-r)]

Can you help with this problem?
Provide an answer of your own, or ask S N BANERJEE for more information if necessary.
