Madgraph Low Energy Problem

Asked by ali

Hi, when i try to run madgraph at beam energies one of them is 1 GeV the other one is 3.56 GeV i get same error message is;

 " Command "generate_events run_01" interrupted with error:
OSError : [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/ali/Desktop/ToolBOX/toolbox-2.0.2/MG5_aMC_v2_4_3/bin/burcun/Events/pythia_events.hep' "

i changed the default cuts on the leptons 10 to 0 but still i get same error. Procces is " e- e+ > mu- mu+ ".

Hi,

The problem is in PY6 (that is not developed/maintained by us), when you run it, it stop with the following message:
> Error: too low CM energy, 3.821 GeV for event generation.
> Execution stopped!

You are starting at very low scale and this is why the default parton-shower is not suited for such type of generation.
You should ask at parton-shower expert to see if it makes sense to run the parton-shower on those events and if it is
which parameter you have to set.

On our side, the generation of the parsonic events (pre-shower) seems to work as expected.

Cheers,

Olivier
