Problem with MG5_V2.4.0
Dear Olivier,
I am having some problem with 2.4.0_beta version, while calculating QCD loop processes with LHAPDF SET : 246800 (id). While the MG5_v2.3.3 works quite good.

Could you try to run the process with MadLoop in standalone mode (computing the virtual amplitude only and evaluating it for one phase-space point). You can do so with
> cd <MG_installatio
> ./bin/mg5
and then
MG5_aMC> import <your_model>
MG5_aMC> generate g g > xd xd~ g [virt=QCD] (the 'virt=' is what makes it go in MadLoop standalone mode and generate the virtual only)
MG5_aMC> output MyTest
MG5_aMC> launch -f
It is likely that the same error will be triggered.
Then you can try to run it by hand, to get more details on what went wrong. You can do so with:
> cd MyTest/
> make check
> ./check
Please report the compilation error that you encountered (probably) and attach the Ninja compilation log that you can find in
<MG_installatio
Please also tell me what OS your are running and what C++ compiler your are using (clang or gcc and the version).

So the problem was that MG5aMC automatically found an installation of Samurai in your GoSam directory:
/home/shibanand
and it tries to use and interface to it. Unfortunately, on some non-standard installation of GoSam, the interface to its internal Samurai distribution doesn't work.
Of course you don't need Samurai, because you already have many other reduction tools available. Ninja alone would already be enough for most cases (If you care, you can find more details on the performance comparison of these various reductions methods in https:/
So I suggest you disable Samurai and give it another try (re-generate and output the process from scratch). You can do so by setting the option
samurai = None
in <MG_installatio
Alternatively you can also use the set samurai to None directly from within the MG5_aMC interface with:
MG5_aMC> set samurai None
It only needs to be done once as this command will automatically modify the file 'mg5_configurat
Let me know if you are still facing issues with your process.

I found out the problematic line for the Samurai interface in the MG v2.4.0 beta. I fixed it in the development branch.
But you can give it a try in your current copy of MG5aMC, if you want to have Samurai interfaced.
You can change the line:
elseif ((P_TMP(
around line 424 of the file <MG_install_
elseif ((P_TMP(
You will need to regenerate and output the process to give it a try.

That is because you must add the LHAPDF lib directory to your dynamical library path environment variable.
If you are using a bash shell, you can do so with:
export LD_LIBRARY_
Notice that you can add the command above to your /.bashrc file so that it will automatically be executed whenever you start a new terminal session.

Dear Valentin,
I have done that as well. Still facing problem. Sorry make this
thread so lengthy.

What is the path to the shared library 'libLHAPDF.so' SysCalc is looking for?
Did you check that the directory that contains this shared library is indeed in 'LD_LIBRARY_PATH' when doing

Ok, can you try to also amend the environment variable 'LIBRARY_PATH' in the same way? (and make sure it is correctly there with 'echo $LIBRARY_PATH' before running the process).
I think it should work this time, or at least it should find the LHAPDF dynamic library. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Valentin,
You are correct this time. It works properly and not showing any error message.
Q1. Can you suggest me about the SysCalc.log file how to make sense of this file ?
Q2. Is it taking the LHAPDF as "MSTW2008lo68cl" with " LHAPDF ID = 21000" or taking the "CT10nlo" with " LHAPDF ID = 11000" ???
As I have set the run_card.dat as :
# PDF sets and number of members (0 or none for all members).
CT10nlo.LHgrid = sys_pdf # matching scales
#MSTW2008nlo68c
I am also bit confuse here with "sys_pdf" attribute.!!!

You can find more info on SysCalc on other MadGraph related pages, such as:
https:/
After reading those, if you have further questions on SysCalc, please ask a separate question on launchpad (not a bug report) which will be directed to SysCalc author who is in the best position to answer your questions.
