madspin + pythia on already generated sample

Asked by Eric

Dear MG5 developers,

How can I run Madspin and Pythia on already generated samples?

I managed to run madspin on a previous run by calling
    bin/madevent decay_events run_01
and Pythia with
    bin/madevent pythia run_01

However, when I try to combine both by running Pythia on the decayed events
   bin/madevent pythia run_01_decayed_1
I get the following error:
Command "pythia run_01_decayed_1" interrupted with error:
InvalidCmd : No events file corresponding to run_01_decayed_1 run.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Eric

Hi,

Events/run_01_decayed_1 contains the unweighted_events.lhe file and the banner run_01_decayed_1_tag_2_banner.txt.

Regards,

Eric

Hi,

apparently, MadEvent expects the event files to be zipped.
The problem disappeared after running
  gzip Events/run_01_decayed_1/unweighted_events.lhe

Many thanks,

Eric
