addition of new invisible particle

Asked by nabanita ganguly

Hi,

I am generating some processes for a BSM model in madgraph. In the model , I have a new stable particle(pdg code say X) that contributes to MET.
I have found in plot_card that the MET class is defined as 12 -12 14 -14 16 -16 1000022 . So if I want to add X to MET class will it be enough just to redefine the class as 12 -12 14 -14 16 -16 1000022 X ? Or there are some other changes that I have to make?

Also it is written that pdg 12 is assigned to missing ET for lhco file. So if I redefine MET class will it be automatically added in lhco file?

Regards,
Nabanita

Editing that file, only affects the plot created by MadAnalysis.
This information is not used by either Pythia/PGS/Delphes.

You need to contact the Delphes author to learn how they handle such situation.
