Running fixed order with UFO models?

Asked by sgreydan

Hi,

Quick question - is it possible to do a fixed-order run using a UFO model which is different from the (default) SM model in MadGraph? I'm trying to do a fixed order run using the Higgs Characterization (HC) model (http://feynrules.irmp.ucl.ac.be/wiki/HiggsCharacterisation)

The options it's giving me are:

The following switches determine which programs are run:
 1 Run the pythia shower/hadronization: pythia=NOT INSTALLED
2 Run PGS as detector simulator: pgs=NOT INSTALLED
3 Run Delphes as detector simulator: delphes=NOT INSTALLED
4 Decay particles with the MadSpin module: madspin=OFF
5 Add weights to the events based on changing model parameters: reweight=OFF
Either type the switch number (1 to 5) to change its default setting,
or set any switch explicitly (e.g. type 'madspin=ON' at the prompt)
Type '0', 'auto', 'done' or just press enter when you are done.
 [0, 4, 5, auto, done, madspin=ON, madspin=OFF, madspin, reweight=ON, ... ][60s to answer]

In the SM model, there is a fixed order option, but it is missing here as far as I know.

Best!

Sam

HI,

This has nothing to do with the model.
The difference is that in one case you generate a NLO process (for your SM) and that for this case you generate a LO process.

For LO process, they are no difference (at matrix-element level) between fix order and LO+PS.
Having pythia off is therefore a fix order run.

Cheers,

Olivier

I should have clarified: I'm using the NLO HC model

That does not change anything to my answer.
You can generate LO matrix element with NLO model.

Can you help with this problem?
