Madgraph hangs at "Creating Plots for Delphes level"

Asked by Felix Bruemmer

Hi,

I have a similar problem as described e.g. here (and reportedly solved): https://answers.launchpad.net/mg5amcnlo/+question/246720

After a fresh install of MadGraph_aMC@NLO 2.2.3, pythia-pgs, ExRootAnalysis, MadAnalysis and Delphes on a Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit machine, running

generate p p > e+ e-
launch

with Pythia and Delphes activated, the interface hangs at "Creating Plots for Delphes level". After pressing a key the run proceeds but no Delphes plots are generated (other plots are fine). Any ideas?

Thanks in advance, Felix

Dear Felix,

Do you get the LHCO file by Delphes?

Can you copy here the first ~10 lines of that file?

It might be related to the bug 1 here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mg5amcnlo/+bug/1198655

Best,
Rikkert

Dear Rikkert,

the LHCO file contains no events. The first lines are

#<LesHouchesEvents version="3.0">
#<header>
#<!--
##*********************************************************************
## *
## MadGraph5_aMC@NLO *
## *
## Going Beyond *

Perhaps the delphes.log file might be more useful, see below.

Best,
Felix

Dear Felix,

This seems to be a problem in running either Delphes (or ExRootAnalysis) and not MadGraph5_aMC@NLO related. I suggest to contact the Delphes authors.

Best regards,
Rikkert
