the equivalent of particles in edm .root produced by pythia8 in cmssw to pythia6 .lhe file

Hi,

I am new to the edm root file (produced by cmssw), all along I am using pythia6 come with a madgraph generator to produce lhe file and study the added particles. I am trying to understand the additional jet added by ISR and FSR in my process chichi+j samples.

In pythia 6, I understand that the extra particles (taken as extra jet == ISR/FSR) added were status code 1 (correct me if i am wrong) ; meanwhile inspecting the edm root file ( generated by using -s GEN -eventcontent RAWSIM --inputfile=file:madgraph.lhe with pre-fabricated configuration file ), i found that there are genParticleCollection, bunch of GenJet by different jet clustering algorithms , etc..

The question is, is the status code of 1 in pythia6 lhe file equivalent to status code 33 in genParticleCollection in edm file?

If not, which particle status code should i look in order to identify the ISR and FSR jet in edm root file and compare to pythia6 lhe file?

Hi Siew Yan,

I guess that this question is for the MonteCarlo group of CMS.
I do not know which email/forum you can use to contact them since this method is probably only accessible to CMS member.
